Title: The Ultimate Volunteer Guidebook for Young People Author: Christine Reyna Maxwell, M. HR Publisher: Westholme Publishing Reviewer: Marilyn Meredith – AAA Member What a wonderful idea for a book! What a wonderful idea for a book! This is a unique guide to help young people not only understand the reasons for volunteering, but how to choose where they should volunteer along with directions on how to do it. The Ultimate Volunteer Guidebook for Young People is divided into sections: Donation, Drives, Fund-Raisers, Humanitarian Awareness, Ecological Awareness, and Animal Husbandry. Within each sections are descriptions of possible volunteer activities with detailed descriptions of how to go about each one. This book is straight-forward, easily understood, and would definitely be a helpful guide to any young person desiring to make a difference in his or her community–and even the world. For any youth embarking upon one of these plans for volunteering will not only result in a sense of accomplishment and responsibility, but will also be the material for a resume for college or employment. This would make a wonderful gift for a young person in middle or high school. However, the ideas are so wonderfully presented, the content in The Ultimate Volunteer Guidebook for Young People would be helpful to anyone who would like to do some volunteering but not quite sure how to go about it. Highly recommended!
