A Book That Will Alter Our Medical Thinking as a Nation

I have never read a book that has impressed me more. “Money Driven Medicine” by David Cundiff exposes many medical and pharmaceutical practices that seem to be more motivated by money than patient health. His very frank and well documented data clearly cuts to the heart of medicine as it is practiced in this country. This book will open up the collective consciousness of this nation about drugs and medical treatment, much in the same way that Rachael Carson’s book “Silent Spring” in 1962, gave focus to the environmental movement.

Cundiff challenges some very basic concepts of modern day medical practices. Each chapter in his book opens doors to new realizations about how money controls and motivates research and treatment. Money is the force in medicine – not compassion. It becomes obvious from looking over the authors numerous footnotes and quoted studies that he has not taken this subject lightly. David’s presentation can be read by medical professionals and can be just as effective and educational with layman like myself who have no medical background.

The author should be sainted for his ethics and for challenging the established medical system; however, whistleblowers are never rewarded. They end up having their character assassinated and their livelihood taken away. The AMA plays rough. They cannot have one of their own breaking ranks by telling the world that the emperor has no clothes; in this case, that drug companies are worshiped and valued more than non-patented and natural cures. This book points out some chilling facts and raises many questions that I do not think the AMA is ever going to directly answer.

This book is like the first shot in a medical care revolution. David Cundiff is on the front lines ready to go to war for what he believes in! This needs to be required reading for all new doctors before they get contaminated by the established medical world.
