Tim Herrera ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Tim spent 22 years in the journalism business, with most of that time spent honing his public speaking skills in television and radio. His wealth of life and work experiences provides him with an abundant supply of anecdotes to entertain and inform audiences interested in various topics: parenting, family, media relations, writing, publishing on demand and journalism. For 12 years, he was a reporter and anchor at KCRA-TV in Sacramento where he earned the reputation as one of the market’s top television journalists and was the winner of 14 prestigious journalism awards. Tim was a runner-up for the 2003 Will Rogers Humanitarian Award, presented by the National Society of Newspaper Columnists. On the print side, Tim is the author of hundreds of freelance articles and columns. He has also authored four books: “Dad, You Are NOT Going Out Wearing That!”, “From Wedgies to Feeding Frenzies”, “Where the Dust Never Settles” and “I’m Their Dad! Not Their Babysitter!” All four books are collections of warm and amusing essays on family and parenthood. Tim is currently putting the finishing touches on “30 Things You Should Know About Media Relations”, a communications guide specifically designed for the small business owner or the non-profit boss whose organization needs media relations help but can’t afford it.
