Phil Silver

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Phil Silver was born in Jacksonville, Florida in 1946, but was raised in Burbank, California. Heís been employed as a Special Education Teacherís Aid, an on-air radio personality for Country Western Station KNGS, and earned a teaching credential from the University of California Berkeley before becoming an Adult Education Broadcasting Teacher. Heís managed several national restaurant chains, and spent 23 years with Pacific Bell before becoming an award winning author.

As a legacy for his boys, he recreated and printed a couple of stories. Shortly thereafter, his first book, Boga Bear: Beat the Heat was published in 2005. His second book, Boga Bear: Staying Cool, was also published, and both books were awarded the 2005 American Authorís Associationís Silver Medal Award for Childrenís Story Books. Mr. Silver has been an invited guest author at many schools in California and where he reads his books to thousands of children.
