ABOUT THE
AUTHOR
I
got my BA in English from McGill University (1994), an MA from the
University of Toronto (1995), and a PhD from Stanford University (2001).
I teach British Literature and Creative Writing at CSU Sacramento. My
scholarly pieces have appeared in the Journal of Modern Literature and
Twentieth Century Literature, and my book-length study of the fiction of
Hanif Kureishi appeared in 2007 from Palgrave MacMillan.
I've published poems in more than 130 journals worldwide, including
Canadian Literature, The Wisconsin Review, and Fulcrum. I've also
published two books of poems, The Miracle Shirker (2005)
and Swimming the Mirror (2008).
I edit the Tule Review and am an
Executive Board Member of the Sacramento Poetry Center (SPC), and organize
various contests. SPC is currently hosting a poetry book contest and will be
accepting manuscripts postmarked between January – March 2009.
